Dr. Troy Nash isn't your typical AI speaker. He doesn't come from Silicon Valley. He comes from Section 8 housing.
Labeled "at-risk" as a child and told he wasn't college material, Dr. Nash defied every expectation. He served in the U.S. Air Force during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He was elected to the Kansas City City Council at age 29 and chaired its Planning, Zoning and Economic Development Committee. He was the first African American to become a partner in a top 10 commercial real estate firm in the history of the State of Missouri.
Today, as a UMKC Assistant Teaching Professor who teaches real estate fundamentals, principles and development, and as CEO and Co-Founder of AGI Affinity , Dr. Nash brings a perspective to AI that audiences rarely hear: What happens when communities are left behind? And what can we do to ensure the AI revolution lifts everyone?
